EU-Skeptiker an der Macht: Die Rolle integrationkritischer Parteien in EU-Parlament und nationalen Regierungen

Abstract

Angesichts der vielen Krisen in der Europäischen Union haben EU-skeptische Parteien nicht nur bei den Europawahlen von 2014 große Zuwächse erzielt. Vielmehr konnten sie seitdem auch bei fast allen regionalen und nationalen Wahlen in Mitgliedstaaten zulegen. Mittlerweile sind sie in sieben EU-Ländern sogar an der Regierungsbildung beteiligt. Auf den Gesetzgebungsprozess der EU im Europäischen Parlament und im Rat hat dies bislang nur minimale Auswirkungen. Doch dass der frühere europapolitische Konsens weggebrochen ist, reduziert den Spielraum nationaler Regierungen für Kompromisse auf Ebene der EU, vor allem auch bei den großen Herausforderungen, vor denen die Union momentan steht. Ihren Fortbestand muss die EU daher auf Basis ihres existierenden Integrationsniveaus sichern. (SWP-Aktuell)
