Abstract

Seit 2014 wird in Deutschland über neue Macht und neue Verantwortung in der Außenpolitik diskutiert. Gleichzeitig hat sich Deutschlands Umfeld in einen Krisenbogen verwandelt, der vom Baltikum über den Mittleren Osten bis zum Maghreb reicht. Welche Rolle der Bundeswehr für die Außenpolitik und in Krisen zukommt, das möchte die Bundesregierung mit einem Weißbuch zur Sicherheitspolitik und Zukunft der Bundeswehr beantworten. Soll die Öffentlichkeit in die Debatte einbezogen werden, ist auch Strittiges zu behandeln - anders als im Entstehungsprozess früherer Weißbücher. Vor allem sollten die Themen Demographie, Rüstung, Partnerschaften, Legitimation und Ressourcen erörtert werden. (SWP-Aktuell)
