Wahlschock in Rumänien: Neue Regierung weiter auf Europakurs

Abstract

Die jüngsten Parlaments- und Präsidentschaftswahlen in Rumänien ließen das Ausmaß der wirtschaftlichen, aber auch der moralischen Krise des Landes deutlich werden. Die »Revolution mit dem Stimmzettel« zielt auf die politische Klasse in ihrer Gesamtheit, die als der wahre Schuldige dafür angesehen wird, daß Rumänien heute als Schlußlicht unter den EU-assoziierten Staaten gilt. Der Aufstieg des extremistischen Präsidentschaftskandidaten konnte im zweiten Wahlgang gestoppt werden. Nun muß die neue, pragmatische Minderheitsregierung mit Unterstützung der demokratischen Oppositionsparteien versuchen, ein weiteres Absinken des Lebensstandards der Bevölkerung zu verhindern, und zugleich Strukturreformen einleiten. Eine Aufgabe, die ohne eine klare Integrationsperspektive seitens EU und NATO kaum zu bewältigen sein wird. (SWP-aktuell / SWP)
