Abstract

Russland bleibt zumindest auf mittlere Sicht das Rückgrat der Energieversorgung in Europa. Zwar existieren Puffer, sollten Lieferungen über die Ukraine ausfallen, doch ansonsten bestehen kurzfristig nur wenig Alternativen. Mittel- bis langfristig hat Europa aber Möglichkeiten zu diversifizieren. Damit wachsen auch außenpolitische Handlungsspielräume. Es gibt starke wechselseitige Abhängigkeiten und die ökonomische Vernunft gebietet es eigentlich, den politischen Konflikt nicht auf die Wirtschafts- und die Energiebeziehungen zu verlagern. Andernfalls zöge dies für beide Seiten massive ökonomische Nachteile nach sich. (SWP-Aktuell)
