Europa braucht eine neue Sicherheitsstrategie: Überlegungen und Fahrplan zur Neufassung der ESS

Abstract

Die Debatte über eine Neufassung der Europäischen Sicherheitsstrategie (ESS) nimmt Fahrt auf. Unter den EU-27 wird kontrovers diskutiert, wie notwendig eine strategischen Weiterentwicklung ist, die womöglich die Mitgliedstaaten in verschiedene Lager spalten könnte. Eine gemeinsame Haltung soll auf dem informellen Gymnich-Treffen der EU-Außenminister am 9. und 10. März 2012 in Kopenhagen gefunden werden. Würde der Beschluss gefasst, die EU mit einem neuen strategischen Grundlagendokument auszustatten, könnten die Mitgliedstaaten den gegenwärtigen politischen wie geopolitischen Veränderungen gestärkt entgegentreten
