Abstract

Unter dem Titel "Globale Rechtsstaatlichkeit. Cui bono?" leistet Dr. habil. Henning Melber, Mitglied im Beirat der SEF und langjähriger Direktor der Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation, Uppsala, mit dem Global Governance Spotlight 1|2012 einen Beitrag zur Eröffnungsdebatte der UN-Generalversammlung am 24. September 2012 zu Rechtsstaatlichkeit. Melber begrüßt in seinem Papier die erhöhte Aufmerksamkeit, die das Thema im internationalen Dialog auch mit Blick auf entwicklungspolitische Fragestellungen erfährt. Er warnt jedoch vor einer einseitigen Debatte und vor Fallstricken beim internationalen Engagement für Rechtsstaatlichkeit auf nationaler wie internationaler Ebene. Die Glaubwürdigkeit der internationalen Gemeinschaft könne nur durch eine neue Legitimität von Institutionen und Normen, die allen Mitgliedern der Gesellschaft dienen, gewahrt werden.
