Bedeutung der Krankenhäuser in privater Trägerschaft

Abstract

Die Ökonomisierung des Gesundheitswesens und somit auch des Krankenhausmarktes macht sich seit Beginn der neunziger Jahre verstärkt in der Eigentümerstruktur der Krankenhäuser bemerkbar (Neubauer 1999). Sie äußert sich u. a. in einer Verschiebung der Anteile an der Versorgung aller Krankenhauspatienten von öffentlichen und freigemeinnützigen hin zu privaten Krankenhausträgern. Die Expansion von Krankenhäusern in privater Trägerschaft wird jedoch nicht nur mit Freude, sondern auch mit Skepsis beobachtet. Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist eine wissenschaftlich fundierte Bewertung der Krankenhausprivatisierung in Deutschland in Form eines Factbooks. Es soll detaillierte Kennziffern zum Akut-Krankenhausmarkt liefern - insbesondere nach Trägerschaft differenziert - und die Debatte um Privatisierungen versachlichen.
