Social Media im politischen Wahlkampf. Bedeutung und Instrumente

Abstract

Spätestens nach den erfolgreichen Wahlkämpfen 2008 und 2012 in den USA des zweimaligen US-Präsidenten Barack Obama, ist Social Media als Schlüsselmedium für die politische Kommunikation angekommen. Nach der Wahl von Donald Trump als 45. Präsidenten der Vereinigten Staaten ist zudem deutlich geworden: Social Media erreicht in der Politik eine nie dagewesene Dimension und hat insbesondere im Wahlkampf eine sehr wichtige Bedeutung. Im vorliegenden Arbeitspapier sollen die folgenden Aspekte näher beleuchtet werden: Welche Auswirkungen haben Social Media auf die Politik und wie können sie in der politischen Kommunikation eingesetzt werden? Wie können mit Social Media Wähler gewonnen werden? Welche Möglichkeiten bieten Social Media für die Bürger, um sich in der politisch zu beteiligen? Welche Risiken können durch Social Media in der Politik entstehen?
