Abstract

Im akademischen Teil des Institutstags am 3. und 4. Dezember 2009, der dem 25-jährigen Bestehen des Max-Planck-Instituts für Gesellschaftsforschung gewidmet war, blickte das MPIfG auf seine Gründungsgeschichte. Nach kurzen einleitenden Bemerkungen von Prof. Wolfgang Streeck, seit 1995 Direktor am Institut, präsentierte Dr. Ariane Leendertz von der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München einige Ergebnisse ihrer mit Unterstützung des Vereins der Freunde und Ehemaligen des MPIfG durchgeführten Untersuchung über die Entstehungsgeschichte des Instituts. Es folgten Kommentare von Prof. Reimar Lüst, seinerzeit Präsident der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, und Prof. Franz-Xaver Kaufmann, erster Fachbeiratsvorsitzender des MPIfG, sowie eine Diskussion im Plenum. Im Folgenden dokumentieren wir Einleitung, Vortrag und Kommentare.
