Weltethos versus Weltgesellschaftsvertrag - Methodische Weichenstellung für eine Ethik der Globalisierung

Abstract

In Zeiten zunehmender Komplexität besteht die Neigung, nach Moral zu rufen. Man hofft auf Orientierung in den Wirren der Unübersichtlichkeit. In solchen Zeiten wachsen der Ethik zwei Aufgaben zu. Eine erste Aufgabe besteht darin, nicht nur die (Gründe der) Nachfrage zu reflektieren, sondern auch die (Begründungen der) Angebote, die sich anheischig machen, den artikulierten Orientierungsbedarf zu befriedigen. Neben einem solchen „quality screening“ kann Ethik eine zweite, ebenfalls genuin wissenschaftliche Aufgabe übernehmen, indem sie – nicht moralische, sondern – moraltheoretische Orientierungsleistungen generiert. Der folgende Beitrag illustriert, wie beide Aufgaben miteinander zusammenhängen können.
