Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit den Arbeitsbedingungen von Unternehmern. Grundlage des Berichtes sind die Daten des European Survey on Working Conditions aus den Jahren 2000 und 2005. Vorangegangene Analysen zeigten, dass es eine nicht unbeträchtliche Spannbreite in den Arbeitsbedingungen von Unternehmern gibt. Eine wesentliche Bestimmungsgröße für die Aufgaben von Unternehmern und für die daraus resultierenden Belastungen ist die Unternehmensgröße. Je kleiner das Unternehmen, umso stärker gleichen sich die Arbeitsbedingungen von Unternehmern und Arbeitnehmern. Mit zunehmender Unternehmensgröße steigt der intrinsische Gehalt der Arbeit, es deutet sich allerdings auch an, dass in größeren Unternehmen die intrinsischen Anreize für Unternehmer zurückgehen.
