Zehn Argumente gegen die Vermögensteuer

    Abstract

    Regelmäßig wird hierzulande über eine Reaktivierung der Vermögensteuer diskutiert. Der-zeit existieren unterschiedlich detaillierte Reformvorschläge von einzelnen Parteien und Bürgerinitiativen. Die Landesregierungen von Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Ham-burg und Baden-Württemberg wollen im Herbst 2012 eine entsprechende Bundesratsinitiati-ve starten. Die Eckpunkte für diesen parlamentarischen Vorstoß liegen vor. Demnach soll eine Vermögensteuer von jährlich einem Prozent auf Privatvermögen von über zwei Millio-nen Euro (Ehepaare: vier Millionen Euro) erhoben werden. Auch Betriebsvermögen sollen der Besteuerung unterliegen. Das Vermögensteueraufkommen wird auf 11,5 Milliarden Euro p. a. prognostiziert. Nach Ansicht des Instituts sollte die Vermögensteuer nicht reaktiviert werden. Die zehn nachfolgend aufgeführten Argumente sprechen vielmehr dafür, diese Steuerart aus dem Grundgesetz zu streichen. --
