IW Zinsausblick März 2016: Geldpolitik zwischen Deflation und finanzieller Repression

Abstract

Die aktuellen Inflationszahlen für den Euroraum deuten an, dass der Einsatz von Quantitative Easing (QE) der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) die Deflationsgefahren bisher nicht gebannt hat. Eine Ausweitung der Maßnahmen in Form von Negativzinsen und Bargeldeinschränkung wird jedoch irreparablen Schaden verursachen. Im Gegensatz zu QE stellen sie eine finanzielle Repression dar.
