Abstract

Die transatlantischen Handelsbeziehungen haben sich unter der Biden-Administration - trotz verbleibender Konflikte - sehr deutlich verbessert. In der Folge sind die USA als Exportpartner mit einem Ausfuhranteil von fast 10 Prozent im ersten Halbjahr 2022 für Deutschland noch wichtiger geworden, während Chinas Bedeutung zuletzt abnahm. Die zukünftige Handelspolitik zwischen der EU und den USA wie auch die Ausrichtung der transatlantischen Partner gegenüber China wird der neue Handels- und Technologierat maßgeblich mitbestimmen. Ein Jahr nach dem ersten Treffen in Pittsburgh ist es Zeit für eine kurze Bilanz.
