Dilemma der EU-Fiskalpolitik: Hoher Ausgabenbedarf und Schuldentragfähigkeit

Abstract

Die EU steht vor dem Dilemma von hohen Ausgabenbedarfen aufgrund der grünen und digitalen Transformation sowie der geopolitischen Lage einerseits und einer bereits sehr hohen Staatsverschuldung in einigen Mitgliedstaaten andererseits. Tragfähige Finanzen sind Grundvoraussetzung für die Umsetzung der strategischen Ziele der EU. Jedoch könnte die diskutierte Reform der EU-Fiskalregeln zu einer laxeren Fiskalpolitik führen. Eine einfache Schuldentragfähigkeitsanalyse zeigt, dass dies vor allem in Frankreich und Italien Gefahren für die Finanzstabilität bergen würde.
