Institutionelle Arrangements für die Zuweisung von Opportunitätskosten

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag geht dem Konzept der Opportunitätskosten nach und untersucht die Frage, durch welche institutionellen Arrangements volkswirtschaftliche Opportunitätskosten einzelnen Entscheidungseinheiten zugewiesen werden können. In diesem Zusammenhang spielen Eigentumsrechte und Märkte eine zentrale Rolle. Untersucht wird unter anderem, inwieweit Opportunitätskosten in offenen Volkswirtschaften anders definiert werden als in geschlossenen Volkswirtschaften. Im Zentrum steht die Frage, wie Opportunitätskosten im Fall von externen Effekten zugewiesen werden können. Dabei spielen intertemporale Aspekte, also Interdependenzen zwischen Generationen, eine wichtige Rolle. Schließlich wird der Zusammenhang von Opportunitätskosten und politischen Entscheidungen behandelt.
