Zur Prognose des Welthandels mit verschiedenen globalen Aktivitätsmaßen

Abstract

Die Veränderungsraten des Welthandels und verschiedener Aktivitätsmaße weisen einen hohen Gleichlauf auf. Zwischen den Jahren 1995 und 2016 besteht dabei die höchste Korrelation zwischen dem Welthandel und der globalen Industrieproduktion (Korrelationskoeffizient: 0,91); für das globale Bruttoinlandsprodukt und die globalen Investitionen liegt sie mit 0,84 bzw. 0,75 etwas niedriger. Betrachtet man hingegen das Verhältnis der Expansionsraten des Welthandels und der verschiedenen Aktivitätsmaße, so offenbaren sich deutliche Unterschiede im Zeitverlauf. Während die Elastizität des Welthandels bezüglich des Bruttoinlandsprodukts und der Industrieproduktion einen starken Abwärtstrend ausweist, ist jene bezüglich der globalen Investitionen nur wenig gesunken. Als solches könnten sie sich besser für die Modellprognose des Welthandels eignen, da hierbei oftmals eine konstante Parameterstruktur unterstellt wird.
