Zur Konsumschwäche in den Niederlanden

Abstract

Die Finanzkrise 2008/2009 und die darauf folgende Schuldenkrise haben in vielen Ländern der Peripherie zu einer dauerhaften Beeinträchtigung der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung geführt. Aber auch die niederländische Wirtschaft, die wegen ihrer relativ soliden Staatsfinanzen und geringer Arbeitslosenzahlen nicht im Fokus der Krisendebatte steht, ist mit andauernden Folgen der Finanzkrise konfrontiert. Der private Konsum ist seit mehreren Quartalen in der Tendenz rückläufig und liegt nun rund 4 Prozent unter dem Vorkrisenniveau. Er hat sich deutlich schwächer entwickelt als im Euroraum insgesamt.
