BDI-Mittelstandspanel 2008 - Ergebnisse der Mittelstandsbefragung aus Frühjahr und Herbst 2008
Abstract
Seit dem Jahr 2005 führt das IfM Bonn in halbjährigem Turnus eine Online-Befragung unter deutschen Industrieunternehmen durch. In der Öffentlichkeit als das BDI-Mittelstandspanel bezeichnet, liefert die Erhebung im Frühjahr und im Herbst jeden Jahres aktuelle Informationen über die zum Befragungszeitpunkt für den industriellen Mittelstand relevanten betriebswirtschaftlichen und wirtschaftspolitischen Themen. Die Ergebnisse aller bisherigen Erhebungswellen sind auf der Homepage des IfM Bonn dokumentiert. Für die ersten sechs Befragungswellen liegen jeweils eine Kurzfassung sowie eine Langfassung in Form einer IfM-Materialie vor. Mit dem vorliegenden Bericht werden die Ergebnisse der siebten und achten Befragungswelle aus dem Frühjahr bzw. Herbst 2008 erstmals komprimiert als Sammelband dargestellt. Ausgehend von den guten Wachstumsraten des letzten Aufschwungs hätten die Startbedingungen in das Jahr 2008 nicht besser sein können. Zwar hatte sich eine leichte Abkühlung der Konjunktur bereits angedeutet, aber der exportstarke industrielle Mittelstand ging noch in der Frühjahrsbefragung von einer anhaltend guten Entwicklung für das Jahr 2008 aus. Diese konnte in den ersten Monaten auch durchaus realisiert werden. Ab Jahresmitte 2008 griff die internationale Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise jedoch weitaus stärker als erwartet in das globale Wirtschaftsgeschehen ein. Die Berichterstattung des BDI-Mittelstandspanels aus dem Herbst 2008 ist daher von der Finanzmarktkrise und den Unsicherheiten über die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im In- und Ausland geprägt. An der siebten Erhebungswelle beteiligten sich zwischen dem 12. März und 31. Mai 2008 über 2.100 Unternehmen. Die achte Befragungswelle fand zwischen dem 1. September und 10.
