Trotz guter Absichten noch großer Nachholbedarf: Stand von Klimaschutz und Energiewende im RVR-Gebiet

Abstract

Die Landesregierung setzt das ambitionierte Ziel, die Treibhausgasemissionen bis zum Jahr 2020 um mindestens 25% und bis zum Jahr 2050 um mindestens 80% gegenüber dem Jahr 1990 zu verringern. Nur mit einer breiten lokalen und regionalen Umsetzung der Energiewende kann Klimaschutz erfolgreich praktiziert werden. Die vorhandenen Daten zum Ausbau der Erneuerbaren Energien im RVR zeigen, dass ein erheblicher Nachholbedarf in den Kommunen festgestellt werden kann. So liegt der Anteil im RVR-Gebiet bei nur 6,4% im Gegensatz zu 9,4% in NRW. Gerade für die größeren Kernstädte des RVR-Gebietes lassen sich deutlich geringere Anteile konstatieren: Für Bochum kann ein Anteil von 1%, für Essen 1,3%, für Duisburg 2,1% und für Dortmund 2,3% festgestellt werden. Für Nordrhein-Westfalen und seine Teilregionen liegen bereits erste Potentialanalysen für den Ausbau Erneuerbarer Energie vor, in denen ein erhebliches Ausbaupotential auch im RVR-Gebiet gesehen wird.
