Zwischen Historismus und Neoklassik: Alexander Rüstow und die Krise in der deutschen Volkswirtschaftslehre

Abstract

Das Unbehagen in der deutschen Nationalökonomie führte zu dem von Alexander Rüstow ab 1926 intensiv betriebenen, am Ende gescheiterten Versuch, eine geschlossene Front aller deutschen Theoretiker aufzubauen, um, wie er im Januar 1927 an Eucken schrieb, zur Attacke auf die Ruinen der Historischen Schule übergehen zu können. Diese Vorgänge sind lange unbeachtet geblieben oder in ihrer theoriegeschichtlichen Bedeutung nicht richtig gewürdigt worden. Die vorliegende Studie folgt weitgehend der Darstellung im Buch Nationalökonomie und Nationalsozialismus und basiert auf der Auswertung der Korrespondenz des leidenschaftlichen Briefeschreibers Rüstow. Einige Auskünfte gab zudem noch 1993 Hanns-Joachim Rüstow, der bald darauf verstorbene Bruder Alexanders.
