Wilhelm Röpke und die Katholische Soziallehre
Abstract
Die Auseinandersetzung zwischen Katholischer Soziallehre und deutschem Neoliberalismus spielt in der Wissenschaftsgeschichte der frühen Bundesrepublik Deutschland eine wichtige Rolle. Der Streit geht um erkenntnistheoretische Grundsatzpositionen (Universalienstreit), sozialphilosophische Probleme (Beziehung zwischen Individuum und Gesellschaft) und Fragen der Wirtschaftsverfassung (Berufsständische Ordnung). Die Kontroverse hat daneben jedoch auch bis heute politische Auswirkungen. Die Person Wilhelm Röpkes (1899-1966), für den vor allen Dingen in seinen späten Jahren die Religion sehr wichtig ist, hat in der vielschichtigen Beziehung zwischen beiden Sozialphilosophien eine große Bedeutung. Diese ist bisher nur fragmentarisch untersucht. Der Text will die Lücke ein wenig schließen. Zur groben Einordnung erfolgt zunächst eine Beschreibung von Neoliberalismus und Katholischer Soziallehre. Die Rolle Wilhelm Röpkes in der Auseinandersetzung stelle ich in chronologischer Reihenfolge der Schriften Röpkes und anderer dar.
