Abstract

Deutschlands elf Metropolregionen können als Motor der sozio-ökonomischen Entwicklung betrachtet werden, da sie weithin mit ihrer Erreichbarkeit auf das europäische Ausland und dahinter wirken. Vor dem Hintergrund der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Herausforderungen und der aktuellen Bevölkerungsdynamik bilden die Metropolregionen ein spannendes regionalökonomisches Untersuchungsfeld.
