Abstract

Der Zweite Bildungsweg ermöglicht Erwachsenen das Nachholen eines allgemeinbildenden Schulabschlusses. Die Studie analysiert die Kollegs und Abendgymnasien als hybride, zwischen Erwachsenenbildung und Schule angesiedelte Einrichtungen, die Merkmale beider Bereiche aufweisen und miteinander verbinden. Sie basiert auf der Untersuchung von 21 gymnasialen Bildungsgängen des Zweiten Bildungswegs in fünf Bundesländern. Gefragt wurde nach Bildungsweg/-verlauf und -motivation der Schüler_innen. Der Zweite Bildungsweg zeichnet sich hinsichtlich der Zahl der Einrichtungen und ihrer Nutzer_innen durch Stabilität und hinsichtlich seiner inzwischen sehr heterogenen Schüler_innenschaft und seiner Funktion durch Veränderung aus. Zu beobachten ist eine Entwicklung zu einem nachgelagerten Parallelsystem zum Ersten Bildungsweg.
