Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Pensionsfonds in Deutschland

Abstract

Seit im Jahre 2002 die ersten 18 Pensionsfonds ihre Geschäftstätigkeit aufgenommen haben, ist nun rund ein Jahrzehnt verstrichen. Dies ist Anlass, einen Blick auf die wirtschaftliche Situation der Pensionsfondsindustrie zu werfen.Zunächst werden die fünf Durchführungswege der betrieblichen Altersversorgung skizziert und in ihren wesentlichen Merkmalen voneinander abgegrenzt. Es schließt sich eine vertiefte Betrachtung des Pensionsfonds als jüngstem Durchführungsweg an, bei der gleichzeitig Überlegungen für eine sachgerechte und zweckmäßige Segmentierung der Pensionsfondsindustrie angestellt werden. Der Schwerpunkt des Arbeitspapiers liegt in der Betrachtung der Finanzberichterstattung der Pensionsfonds, welche für alle untersuchten Unternehmen einheitlich nach deutschem Bilanzrecht erfolgt. In einem empirischen Teil wird die wirtschaftliche Situation der Pensionsfondsindustrie beleuchtet. Dazu werden jeweils drei Kennzahlen zu den Bereichen 'Analyse der Leistung (Rentabilität)' und 'Analyse des Risikos' untersucht. Die Ergebnisse werden für einzelne Segmente von Pensionsfonds zusammengefasst. Abgerundet wird der empirische Teil durch qualitative Beobachtungen zur Transparenz der Finanzberichterstattung.
