Das "Internet der Dinge": Die Informatisierung der Arbeitswelt und des Alltags. Erläuterungen einer neuen Basistechnologie

Abstract

Das Potenzial der mit dem Paradigma 'Internet der Dinge' verbundenen Technologien und Infrastrukturen entwickelt sich schleichend aber dennoch rasant und unaufhaltsam. Die Entwicklungen zum Internet der Dinge eröffnen durchaus ambivalente Perspektiven: Den hohen wirtschaftlichen Potenzialen und den auch im privaten Umfeld zu erwartenden nützlichen und angenehmen Anwendungen stehen aber auch Missbrauchspotenziale entgegen, die ethische und rechtliche Fragen aufwerfen. Diese sollten im Rahmen einer gesellschaftlichen Debatte beleuchtet werden. In der weiteren Begleitung und aktiven Mitgestaltung dieser Technologieentwicklung sehen die Gewerkschaften daher ein wichtiges Handlungsfeld. DGB, IG Metall und ver.di haben im Rahmen der Fachtagung 'Das Internet der Dinge - die Informatisierung des Alltags und der Arbeitswelt' (Dezember 2008) die Diskussion über gewerkschaftlich relevante Aspekte und Handlungsoptionen begonnen. In der Vorbereitung und Durchführung wurden sie dabei vom Institut für Innovation und Technik, Berlin unterstützt. Die Ergebnisse dieser Phase sind im Arbeitspapier dokumentiert.
