Abstract

Sie gehören zu den einflussreichsten Finanzinvestoren weltweit. Ihre Fonds verwalten Kapital in Milliardenhöhe. Sie verfügen über exzellente Kontakte zu Entscheidungsträgern in Wirtschaft und Politik. Beide haben ihren Hauptsitz in einer der bedeutendsten Finanzmetropolen, New York.Wenn die Finanzinvestoren 'Cerberus' und 'Blackstone' sich in ein Unternehmen einkaufen, ist ihnen Aufsehen in der Öffentlichkeit garantiert. Ob es Cerberus' Einstieg bei Chrysler war oder die Beteiligung von Blackstone an der Deutschen Telekom. Doch so offensichtlich die Gemeinsamkeiten, so unterschiedlich sind Auftritt und Strategien beider Investoren: Während Blackstone schon mal als 'die freundliche Heuschrecke' (boerse.ARD.de) gelobt wird, halten es viele für mehr als Selbstbewusstsein, sich den Cerberus der griechischen Sagenwelt als Namenspatron zu wählen. Denn dieser dreiköpfige Höllenhund bewacht das Totenreich.Urteile oder Vorurteile? Trotz der hartnäckigen Verschwiegenheit der Branche werden Finanzinvestoren allein durch ihr praktisches Handeln in den Beteiligungsunternehmen immer transparenter. Die einzelnen Spuren hat der Autor zu Portraits verdichtet.
