Abstract

Tijdens de eerste drie kwartalen van 2022 is de marge van de typische onderneming gedaald. In verreweg de meeste bedrijfstakken lag de marge van het mediaanbedrijf in 2021 nog boven het gemiddelde van 2015-2019. Dit is niet langer het geval. In het algemeen was de daling meer uitgesproken in de verwerkende nijverheid dan in de dienstensector. Er is echter een groot verschil tussen individuele ondernemingen, aangezien de omvang van de kostenstijging en het vermogen om deze door te berekenen in de verkoopprijzen, van bedrijf tot bedrijf verschillen. In tegenstelling tot de marge van de typische onderneming bleef de macro-economische margevoet in 2022 op een hoog niveau. Zoals elke macro-economische indicator wordt die maatstaf immers beïnvloed door een klein aantal zeer grote bedrijven en is deze hierdoor niet noodzakelijk representatief voor alle ondernemingen. Ook hiervoor wordt tegen eind 2022 echter een trendbreuk verwacht.
