Abstract

1980-luvulla palvelujen ulkomaankaupan tase on kääntynyt lähes 5 mrd. markan ylijäämästä alijäämäjseksi vuonna 1987. Palvelutaseen heikkenemisen syynä on ollut sekä palvelujen vientitulojen kasvun hidastuminen että tuonnin vientiä selvästi nopeampi vuosittainen kasvu. Tässä selvityksessä kuvataan lähinnä kuvioaineiston avulla palvelujen ulkomaankaupan kehitystä ja analysoidaan kehitykseen vaikuttaneita tekijöitä. Palvelujen ulkomaankaupan mallien avulla pyritään selvittämään palvelukaupan riippuvuutta reaalituloista sekä kotimaan ja ulkomaiden välisistä hintasuhteista. Empiirinen tarkastelu perustuu neljännesvuosiaineistoon vuosilta 1975 - 1987. Selvityksen lopussa esitetään estimoituihin malleihin perustuvien vaihtoehtoislaskelmien avulla palvelukaupan kehityksen lyhyen ja keskipitkän aikavälin suuntaviivoja.
