Abstract

Este trabajo intenta mostrar algunos de los requerimientos para la implementación del Inflation Targeting como ancla nominal de la economía – y su capacidad de ser implementados en Argentina -a la luz de la experiencia brasileña y las dificultades experimentadas a lo largo de los cuatro años de su utilización. El foco del análisis está colocado en la dominancia fiscal y el funcionamiento de los mecanismos de pass –through en la economía brasileña. Se concluye que, dada las todavía peculiares características de la economía Argentina, no parece recomendable la aplicación inmediata del IT como ancla nominal de la economía.
