Evaluando los efectos económicos de las actividades pesquera y acuícola en la economía de Galicia

Abstract

Galicia es una de las regiones marítimas más importantes en España. En este trabajo se cuantifica la importancia socioeconómica que la pesca y acuicultura tienen en la economía gallega a partir de la utilización del marco input-output. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los efectos directos e indirectos de ambas actividades productivas son significativos en la economía gallega por su contribución tanto a la obtención de renta en otros sectores económicos como a la generación de empleo. Con una producción conjunta de mil millones de euros, ambos sectores generan un efecto arrastre sobre el valor añadido de la economía gallega estimado en trescientos millones de euros y en la creación de seis mil empleos a tiempo completo en otras ramas de actividad económica.
