Algunas características del discurso de la economía: sus implicaciones pedagógicas

Abstract

El interés por identificar las dificultades que nuestros estudiantes encuentran en la lectura de textos de Economía en inglés nos ha llevado a indagar en torno a los rasgos característicos del lenguaje y del discurso de esta disciplina, ya que de los mismos pueden derivarse implicaciones pedagógicas significativas. En primer lugar, el presente artículo recoge algunos de estos rasgos desde los puntos de vista morfológico, sintáctico y semántico, tal y como aparecen en los manuales básicos de Economía (Hanson, Lipsey, Samuelson, etc.). Tales rasgos, que son causa de dificultad incluso para el estudiante nativo, se centran básicamente en la dicotomía lenguaje concreto/lenguaje abstracto y en los 'frecuentes desplazamientos entre 10 real y lo hipotético característicos del discurso de la Economía. En segundo lugar, se incluye una propuesta metodológica especifica, cuyo objeto es dotar al alumno de la competencia que le permita resolver dichas dificultades.
