La crisis financiera internacional. Repercusión sobre la Economía Española

Abstract

Los desequilibrios acumulados en la economía española hubieran impuesto un ajuste aún sin la crisis financiera internacional; ésta lo ha hecho perentorio y más profundo. España precisa aminorar el déficit por cuenta corriente mejorando, sobre todo, el saldo de la balanza de bienes y servicios, lo cual implica progresos en la competitividad. El gran reto es que ha de hacerlo sin moneda propia, con el euro que es un signo monetario de gran fortaleza. El mensaje final de la conferencia es que no es viable gozar de las ventajas de una moneda sólida sin disciplina en las finanzas
