Abstract

Si pensa, oggi, che il capitalismo abbia trionfato sul socialismo. Forse è vero, e sarà la storia a giudicare, ma non si può certo affermare che abbia vinto anche sulla democrazia, cioè su una ricerca incessante di forme superiori di contratto sociale. La concezione tutta liberale dell’avvenire sembra, infatti, essere fondata su un controsenso: la felicità delle persone non si costruisce loro malgrado, ed è per questo che i regimi comunisti dell’Est sono crollati. A trionfare è stata, dunque, la democrazia, più che l’economia di mercato (...).
