Abstract

Este artigo apresenta uma análise teórica e prática sobre a diversidade dos movimentos sociais ambientalistas do Nordeste do Brasil. A história dos movimentos ambientalistas no Brasil apresenta singularidades, tratamos neste artigo de identificar as transformações históricas que caracterizam o movimento social em geral e suas determinações no movimento ambientalista, destacando na actualidade as suas singularidades e características. Por meio da análise de dados do Cadastro Nacional de Entidades Ambientalistas da Região Nordeste do Brasil no Ministério do Meio Ambiente, buscamos compreender as suas características fundamentais teóricas e práticas de modo complexo evidenciando as contradições deste movimento social os impactos de sua actuação.
