Abstract

Om end den generelle holdning blandt økonomer til, hvilken videnskabelig me-tode man bør anvende inden for vores fagdisciplin synes klar: ved at anvende matematisk formalisme sikres en videnskabelig progressivitet, stiller nogle dog fortsat et spørgsmålstegn ved det ubetinget hensigtsmæssige i en sådan ap-proach. Skal den økonomiske virkelighed beskrives som et åbent og et organisk system, hævdes det, bringer matematisk formalisme ikke nødvendigvis den teo-retiske og empiriske progressivitet, som alle efterstræber.
