Abstract

The present study is devoted to one of the traditional types of "the patronized goods": that is to the artistic products, created in the sphere of art. The paper presents the results of the analysis of the economic dynamics of theatrical activities, including the international comparisons and the empirical test based on the econometric model of the well-known known theoretical regularity - that is "Baumol's disease", with the use of three indices, measuring the lagging productivity of labor, catching the dynamics of wages and salaries and outstripping, or anticipating, growth in ticket prices in relation to the corresponding parameters of macroeconomic dynamics. Particular attention in the article is paid to the methods of calculation of figures of labor productivity and wages, or salaries, proposed R.Kapelyushnikov, and to the assessment of the real possibilities, or feasibilities, of treating "Baumol's disease" by increasing prices for theater tickets.
