Abstract

In this study the stability of the total factor productivity (TFP) in Russia connected with estimation methods was assessed. Approaches to assessing TFP were systematized, an approach was developed for analyzing TFP, taking into account the economic - geographical characteristics and the role of human capital. The analysis was carried out both at the macro level (based on national accounts, regional data) and at the micro level (at the level of companies). Econometric analysis was carried out using parametric and nonparametric methods. It is shown that differences in productivity were connected with the settlement system, the role of natural resources; human capital turned out to be significant not in terms of education level, but in terms of population health.
