The law of a single price and inflation differences in Russian regions

Abstract

We examined the implementation of the law of one price in Russian regions, highlighted the factors affecting the differences in regional price levels and identified the causes of inflation differentiation across different regions. We also defined threshold of regional prices, which triggers market forces, causing the alignment of regional prices. The study shows that the law of one price in Russian regions fails for most goods.
