Abstract

The development of the Russian banking system is divided into several stages after the systemic crisis of 1998. Each stage is characterized by a variety of external parameters and directly implemented strategies and monetary policy, policy in the field of attraction of funds, the development of financial markets. At each stage of the changing institutional structure of financial flows. The analysis of the stages of development of the Russian economy and its financial sector is represented not only in the context of describing the history of development. Each of the selected stages represents the model of economic development (although not a full set of them). The most important is the question of the choice of the model of development of economy of Russia in this decade. Economic growth in the ideal case must be accompanied not a structural imbalances, and, on the contrary, to improve the institutional structure of financial flows, involving the ability of the national financial sector to promote sustainable development and to resist external shocks.
