Asset Management of Public Pension Fund in Norway

Abstract

This paper is dedicated to the analysis of Norwegian Government Pension Fund’s asset management, which include Government Pension Fund – Global and Government Pension Fund – Norway. The result revealed the main features of the Fund’s investment policy, developed and implemented by The Government of Norway, Norwegian Ministry of Finance and the operational managers, as well as was analyzed the organizational structure and investment strategy of the Fund, portfolio forming, risk management and the investments results on financial markets. Based on the analysis authors proposed the key directions for improving of Russian sovereign wealth funds’ asset management – Reserve Fund and National Wealth Fund of the Russian Federation.
