Scientific Research, a Priority of Titu Maiorescu University

In 2000, a decision was taken at the European Union level, there was made the decision to create European Research Area (ERA). A unified space as such throughout Europe will make way for a series of possibilities and opportunities for researchers: to travel and interact, to enjoy world-class infrastructure and work with top networks of research institutions, to efficiently share, teach and capitalize knowledge for social, business and political purposes, to optimize and develop European, national and regional research programmes to support the best research in Europe, to coordinate these programmes in order to deal with the most important challenges, to develop strong connections with partners all around the world, in order for Europe benefit from the worldwide development of knowledge, to contribute to global development and assume a leadership role among the international initiatives for solving global problems. ERA aims at attracting the greatest talents in European research centers, at determining industry to invest more in European research, by promoting EU’s objective of giving 3% of GDP to research and in having a major contribution to the creation of a sustained growth and work places. The founding of ERA became a central pillar of EU’s Lisbon Strategy for development and work places, along with creating a Unique Market, a European Strategy based on innovation and a European Space for Higher Education.
