Abstract

I structured this study entitled “Sustainable development”, in two main parts: The first part contains some general aspects of the sustainable development concept. I focused of the following issues: the meaning of this concept, the objectives of the sustainable development, the main directions followed by the researches regarding the sustainable development, indicators In the second chapter I focused on: some historical world events with important effects regarding the sustainable development concept, measures designed in order to promote and implement the sustainable development.
