Abstract

Our research investigates how private firms balance their resources between retail capital (local stores) and production capital (equipment and product design). We aim to provide one of the first attempts of modeling entrepreneur’s interdependent decisions of sales, production, and retail channel building. This will be complemented by a unique survey effort that collects not only firm production and financial information, but also detailed sales and retail channel information over time.
