Abstract

Zwiększająca się skala emigracji zarobkowych, zanik tradycyjnej wielopokoleniowej rodziny wiejskiej - to dodatkowe czynniki wymuszające wzrost zainteresowania kwestią opieki nad przedstawicielami starszego pokolenia. English Abstract: The demographic aging process affects the majority of developed countries. Currently, the level of demographic old age is more advanced in many European countries than in Poland, but this phenomenon is also growing in Poland, including the Podlaskie Voivodeship. According to long-term demographic forecasts, the problem of an aging society does not expire and grows stronger. The prolonged life expectancy means that there is an increase in the demand for a number of services characteristic of old age, including rehabilitation services. The increasing scale of economic emigration, the disappearance of the traditional multigenerational rural family - these are additional factors that force the growing interest in the issue of care for representatives of the older generation. The needs for this type of services are met in various ways on a national scale. The differences between the models of providing geriatric services relate to systemic considerations, methods of financing and the scope of services provided. There is no one optimal solution.
