Abstract

English. During the period of fifteen years from the beginning of the transition from the communist to market economy in Eastern and Southeastern Europe countries, there has been a lot of empirical evidence about this process and its results. One of the most important aspects of this process is the transition process in Russia, the biggest and probably the richest country in the world. At the beginning of the transition the reformators promised the liberation of private enterpreneurship and huge development and standard increase based on it, but the country fell into deep and longterm crisis, with enormous povertication of the most citizens of the country. What has realy happened in Russia and why are the results so defferent from the promises? Although in the circumstances of the control of „free” media the real information are practically unknown, some of the publications come out. They give an image of what has been done so far, of the forces which have made the reforms and the used methods. And in that image, the friends and the closest members of the family of the Russian ex-president get the prevalent role. The paper show how they all got rich by using unscrupulous methods of robbery, which was carried out among the russian population, and by inappropriate selling of the huge natural and other resources. The biggest irony is that the team of those people has managed to hide a big part of their actions by addopting bad, vague and even illegal and unstatutory laws and other rules. The loss made by this team to the country is estimated at tens of billions of US dollars, and it will probably multiply in the future.
