The village in the Republic of Moldova: achievements and hopes

Abstract

In the present study, the authors are reflecting upon the concept and the achievements of the part of the agrarian reform dealing with the economic and social development of the village in Moldova, which has as main task ”the peasant’s social and economic protection”, as well as upon the national Program „The Moldovan Village” which covers the legal framework for the sustainable rural development during 2005-2015”. Today, almost a quarter of a century since the adoption of the agrarian reform and of the concept of the village’s social and economic development, we are presenting a rural development evaluation study.
