Abstract

The development of a sustainable banking system is a precondition for the development of an economy. The fair competition between financial institutions would lead to the efficient use of financial and other economic resources. The purpose of this paper is to extract all prominent factors in the nature of banking and their direct role in economic development. The factors analyzed here are significantly tied to banking institutions, their efficiency indicators in comparison to other banking institutions in the region and beyond, rate of interest and other lending conditions.
