Abstract

One of the most important problems in project management is project crashing. It has been dealt with in both academic and professional sectors. Many approaches have been elaborated to tackle and solve this problem, but most of them conceive, not without reason, the solution in terms of time/cost tradeoff. The main objective of this paper is to contribute to the explanation of the fundaments of the problem in terms of time/resource tradeoff and elaborate approaches which can combine hardness and realism for an easier accessibility to the practitioners.
