Abstract

A magyar szabadhajózási vállalatok hajóforgalmi statisztikái 1893–1916 közöttA kifejezetten magyar, így némileg független kereskedelmi tengerészet az osztrák-magyar kiegyezés után jöhetett létre, a húsz éves horvát uralom alól visszatérő fiumei kikötőben. Ahogy kor gazdaságpolitikája is előbb az állami iparfejlesztést célozta, úgy a hajózásban is az 1870–1898 közötti években főleg az állam által támogatott és részben irányított hajózási vállalatok kezdték meg működésüket.
